  1. One share of Google is $463, JNJ $70. But really if you don;t have enough to buy 100 shares, you ought not to be investing. Even then, unless you have at least $100,000 to invest, I'd stick to ETFs or mutual funds that diversify you over more of the market. Owning one stock -- no matter which one -- entails risk that only serious investors should take.
