How does one know if they are simply credulous or they are codependent?

That's a real toughie!  I guess the difference would be that simply being credulous may lead to you doing something stupid someone wants you to do, while you can be quite aware of what you are doing when you are codependent.  Credulity is more likely to get you taken advantage of by a con man, while co-dependency is something you do that supports another person's bad habit.
