Question:

How does one log on as an administrator at User Accounts?

I bought a computer second-hand. The previous owner is the primary administrator, where I can only log on as a guest. I have no idea who the previous owner is, being that I bought this computer from a pawn shop. The previous owner has a log-in password that I do not know, and this prevents me from creating a new user account for myself. Is there a way to get rid of the previous owner's administrator's control? I hope so, because I can't do anything with my computer.

  1. Restart computer. As the computer is rebooting keep hitting F8. Then when prompted, boot in safe mode. You should see the master administrator account. From there do what you need to do.
