My situation is this. I am on SSI and SSDI. I wonder if I can still save substantial money while on this type of income. I am worried about the economy and this is why I ask. Your input is duly appreciated.

  1. We used to get help from a church or call HUD for government grants.Or Dept.of Human Development.

  2. Whew ! This won't be easy, I am in the same situation. It's basically  trying and doing your up most best to save and conserve in your household.First one must examine the ways to conserve in the house hold. Saving on your electric bills is where a lot of expenses go.Secondly is your car (if you own one ), gas and insurance, shop for the best prices.Thirdly is food expenses, eat leftovers and make use of buying and preparing ahead of time and freezing food dishes. Limit your money for eating out and avoid over spending. If you can cut back on the above things mentioned you can save some money and put it away for harder times and emergencies.
