SAY YOU GET OFF PACE, HOW DO YOU GET BACK ON PACE FOR YOUR PLANEDD MILE TIME? I have the body type to get a mile in the 6's. I just don't know how to push myself. Also, will better vision help me run better?

  1. you just have to push yourself as hard as you can.

your body can endure a lot more than you think.

and you can always push your body a lot harder then you are.

if there is someone in front of you always try to keep with them.

    better vision might help.

just remember that it is mostly all mental and you just have to keep pushing yourself because your body has a lot more in it then you think.

  2. I run the mile, as well as the 800 in track.

My planned time is always 6 minutes/

    1:30 for each lap.

What I do is just clear my thoughts.

After all, running is 50% mind.

I push myself by thinking happy thoughts

    (as cheesy as it sounds)

Maybe think about someone that makes you happy, how happy you will be once you get to that last lap and your time is perfect, everyone who is proud of you and how much you want this.

    Or release your anger.

I always go out running when im frustruated to calm me down.

I actually run a lot faster when I do this.

Start sprinting, dont think "im never going to get back on pace" but think "i better get back on pace, i want this"

Think how good its going to feel once your back on pace.

I doubt better vision will help you run better, unless you have very poor vision and can't see where you are going but the trail/track is not that hard to see.
