How does one react and do if one is angry and upset with your child/children?

As a father, I don't react till I know the cause, I have never spanked my child, or even abused, it is understanding your child instead of reacting, if you have proper communication things won't go upto reactions

firstly try not to react when u r angry and upset with ur kids.soon as u have managed to control ur emotions,then try to handle the situation.angry reactions  truly harm the child in deep unseen ways.

or ground me

so i wont do it again

most people think spanking is abuse

its not

I have learned to stop and think BEFORE I react. I calmly but firmly say "we don't hit" etc.. and redirect. I also think about how I want my child to react when they are angry, so I respond and model the behavior that is appropriate. Don't get me wrong there are times for any parent when the frustration level is so high you think you are going to go crazy. In those cases I leave the room!! I believe different methods work for different children but remaining calm and firm is the best for me. Don't forget positive reenforcement when a child is doing something good!
