How does one receive a jury duty summons? What are the requirements?

Do I have to be registered to vote in order to get one, or is someone automatically required to participate when they are a certain age?

Varies by state. Some use voter roles, some drivers license roles, some census roles, etc. There was at one time an attempt to stop the use of voter roles because statistics showed a decrease in voter registration when tied to jury duty but that seems to have failed.

Some states go by the voter registration rolls, however , this has been discontinued by some states- you will usually receive a jury summons in the mail
