Question:

How does one systematically take over their town?

I see a need in the city in which I reside to make a difference. My ideas are what some would consider over the top or extreme because they fall out of the realm of anything the city in which I reside has ever done. I have lived in other cities in which these ideas have worked very well, and as a result I know they can work here as well.

So my question is how do I become the person that is powerful enough to be listened to? You know, the guy who is everyones friend and can get anything done because he knows everyone. I would like to eventually run for mayor, but i have neither the money, nor the social status to do so. how does one rise from the ranks of citizen to valued member of the community, and then possibly to mayor?

  1. Learn to be respected and bring something of value to the community first and then you can start influencing people and surrounding yourself with people that share your 'over the top' vision.

  2. this is a question asked by many over the course of time.  my first response was to advise seizing the water, power, and communications, along with developing and maintaining a strong security protocol.  then i read your details and it seems you want to do this all nice.  whatever.

in order to address this situation, please use the link to the standard text for gaining and maintaining the stated goals.  please realize that once either process (martial or political) is initiated, there is no turning back.  it's a dog-eat-dog world, and you will most likely end up hamburger if you fail.  that said, if you are called to proceed, then follow the link and read the text.  http://www.constitution.org/mac/prince00...

after, visit the website homepage and see their library.  good luck ...i guess.

  3. You don't need to be wealthy to run for office.

You do need to be able to persuade others of the value of your ideas, so they will invest in you so you can persuade still others.

The money they give your campaign, no matter how much, is not yours to do anything other then campaign with, so don't mistake it for wealth.

Start out talking to people one on one - sooner or later someone will say you should run for office. Immediately tell them "I was thinking of that - can I count on you to help?" and see if they will or not.

Do this repeatedly and eventually you will have a team to leverage, and they will spread your message for you. And vote for you.

Do this more effectively then others who are interested in the same office, and sooner or later you will find yourself elected.

Not that any individual elected official can compel any changes - you still need to get along with everyone else because of that pesky "checks and balances" thing.

Alternatively, you could build a "well organized militia" as is your 2nd Amendment right, and outman and outgun the townfolk.

  4. Try the School Board...a lot of power and authority and it gets you well known among others including voting parents...then run for county clerk...and rise within the ranks

  5. get enough voters to go along with your ideas...the Dems couldnt get enough Americans to vote them in so they started importing voters from below the border and want to make them voters so they get a majority....

  6. Try the old Marxist equation--take control of the (a) media, (b) schools, and (c) police.   They are the '3 legs of the stool" upon which a society is built. Actually, "control" is not needed so much as "influence". So, perhaps begin with getting to know the staffs of the local paper and radio stations, write letters to the editor, etc. that are not crazy, start a blog on local issues, ets.  Then move to promoting these ideas in the local schools, including the training programs for police, etc.   Third stage is to control/influence the power of the government, which might include forming/serving on a citizens committee that reviews/supports the local police force, aligning politically with the elected local police chief or sheriff (e.g. raising funds for their campaign).

    Just some ideas. Good luck

  7. Run for mayor in order to take over your town and serve the people well.

  8. If this town is in America, the only real way to get to the status you aspire is to become rich and be the biggest taxpayer in town.

Our politicians could care less about the "real" people they allegedly work for.  Unless you are a government worker, than they care.

  9. It would depend on where you are realy. Lets face it no matter what happens you are never going to be everyone's friend, but i would say you just talk to the people. I mean know who your talking to know who you want to be important to, The more that you know about them the more they will like you most of the time.
