    It is a mechanism that keeps our eyeballs moist that is controlled by the nervous system.. When the nervous system gets overwhelmed we cry, It is the same as the way our body sweats when we are nervous or when we get too hot. It is a natural response to stimulus

  2. there is a system in the body called the lacrimal system it is found under the eyelid at the outer side of the eye this system continuously secrets the tears from the glands of this system to wash the eyeball and the secretion of tears is greatly  increase after contact of any object to the eye surface

    eye get rid of the tears through passage of this tears to nose opening through a structure called the lacrimal canal which start from a fin pore in the lower eyelid at the inner side and ends in the nose

    tears are considered as a defense mechanism of the body due to containing lysozymes which kill the harmful bacteria and the tears have hi salty concentration which can inhibit the microbial growth on the eyeball
