    and more...

  3. its just the natural deterioration of cells in the eye, and is based on our genetics.

  4. you may be watching tv or using the computer too close

  5. Genetics mostly and age. Your eyes change as you get older

  6. You get older and your eye gets old

  7. one reason is based on what you inherit; if your parents' eyesight isnt that good then theres a good chance yours won't be either. That and age just because as you get older everything not just your eyes start to become less effective

however, the most contradictory reason why people born with good eyesight that develop problems later on in life has 2 theories. One is that through environmental factors such as what you eat, how much you exercise and basically uncontrollable factors, your eyeballs grow either longer or shorter. longer eyeballs are said to create myopia since the light rays entering the eye converge in front of the retina and short eyeballs are said to create hyperopia because the light rays converge past the retina.

the other theory ( which i personally believe to be the right one) is that based on how you use your eyes, your ciliary muscles weaken or stiffen up. just like how if you dont exercise your biceps or abs or w/e they become out of shape and cannot function to full capacity, the cilary muscles which control the shape of the flexible lens in everyone's eye will not be able to effectively shape the lens causing eye problems. For example, if someone always reads something up close then the ciliary muscles never shape the lens to accomodate distant objects so that person has trouble seeing further

o btw myopia = cant see distant objects, hyperopia = cant see close objects.

  8. People become more long-sighted with age.  The condition is called presbyopia.  The distance between the front and back of the eyeball becomes longer, hence long sighted.  It's probably due to age and muscles becoming weaker, therefore, presbypoia proves that the eyeball is a muscle, which can probably be exercised to repair defective vision.  Just a thought.

  9. when you are young, your eyeballs are a certain shape but as you grow older, your skull grows and changed shape slightly and also your eyes change shape. when the eyes change shape, you can't focus like you could when younger, so you need glasses. sometime damage to the eyes maked the sight worse, sometimes illness and disease.

  10. heredity, sunlight, getting harmful products in your eyes or strain

  11. What was it before and what is it now?
