How does pounds of thrust in an electric outboard boat motor compare to horsepower in gas outboard boat motors

electric motors list power as pounds of thrust. gas motors list power in terms of horsepower. I'd like to know how they compare.

  1. There is a formula that converts watts to HP but generally you can use 15 lbs of thrust being equal to 1 HP.
