  1. Seeds are another adaptation that first appeared in the gymnosperms, but it's "naked". In Angiosperms/flowering plants, the seeds are enclosed in protective coverings.

    Producing seeds benefit them because, more specie of them will grow. And there will be no competition of resources, since seeds are released and sometimes carried to other places. Seeds also have endosperms/cotyledons for food supply in case they short in nutrients.
