How does purchasing your bags and checking in online save you time?

Im a first time flyer- please explain in detail. Spirit Air is not getting back to my questions...I still have to check my bags and wait in line right? So why does the website say purchase online and save time at the airport. ??

It will save you time because you probably wouldn't even have to wait on line inside the airport to check in your luggage. In most airports, they have the check in for the luggage outside and it's quick and easy and less stressful then spending most of your time at the counter inside. However, if there are no check-ins outside, you still would be spending less time at the counter when you stand in line because once you get to the check-in your boarding pass would already be printed and it would be less stress on you. All you'd have to do is put your suitcase on to weigh, and the check-in person has it from there. After that, you'd be good to go!

While you still will have to stand in line to check your bags, the idea behind prepaying the luggage fee is that you'll spend less time at the counter when you get there, because you will have already spent the money and they won't have to go through the process of charging you.  If the people in front of you in line have done the same thing, it will save you time as well, because the counter agent won't have to take the time to process that transaction, either.
