  1. All of the players that are tied for 1st place at the conclusion of regulation play proceed to a pre-designated hole. Teeing order is established by drawing a number out of a hat with the lower or lowest number having honors. The player with the lowest score on the playoff hole is the winner of the tournament. In the event of a tie, another playoff hole is played, and so on, until a wiiner is determined. If there are more the two players tied for 1st at the completion of regulation play, the players with the lowest score on the first playoff hole proceed to the second playoff hole and those players continue play until a winner a determined. In the event of darkness and play can no longer continue, the players will return the following morning and continue play until a winner is determined.

Not all PGA tournaments follow this format. If a tie occurs in the US Open at the conclusion of regulation play an eighteen hole playoff is held the following day. If a tie occurs in the British Open, a three hole playoff takes place and the player with the lowest aggregate score for the three holes is the winner.
