How does quality assurance work?

Question

for a small business selling a cosmetic, are you really expected to test every bottle/container for quality? how do you conduct quality assurance on a large scale?

Statistical sampling is used, usually at multiple phases of the product production cycle.  So you don't have to test every product, just enough to have a representative sample.
