How does "the price is right" show make money?

Ive been always asking myself how do they make money.They give out 50 000$ cars for free and tones of money.The participants dont even pay!

Commercials. The more exciting and entertaining a show is, the more advertisers are willing to pay. They know almost everybody is going to want to watch.....

It's an hour long commercial.  Those companies that furnish gifts do it in lieu of commercial air time, and then there's the actual commercials.  That's where all the cash comes from.  Also, the companies that give them the cars and furniture and other stuff also give cash.  If 30 seconds of commercial airtime on the show costs $500,000 (just an example) and Ford gives them 5 cars worth 25,000 each, that's $125,000 for thirty seconds.  So then Ford still owes them $375,000.  And that'll take the airtime for just one of the cars.  They still owe airtime money for the other four cars.
