  1. Some forms of recycling are a benefit, some are neutral and some are worse for the environment than other methods of waste disposal.  Metals recycling is very good for the environment because the process of mining, refining and smelting is generally quite filthy and as a bonus it is profitable because it's cheaper to melt and purify used metal than it is to refine it from ore.  Recycling of plastics OTOH is worse than producing new product, while paper recycling is a wash because de-inking is a much messier process than making fresh pulp.

  2. It helps saves the planet's resources, which will not be available forever.  We will eventually run out of these precious resources.  Recycling can help significatly delay or possibly eliminate this.

  3. Recycling reuses objects over again. Which means that those objects do not go to the landfill, which is made by destroying land and the more trash the less trees. It effects us because if people destroy land where will we stay? And there will be no more natural items in the world if no one recycles.

If you keep recycling then our world will be on track, but there is more to save in the world.Another way it effects us is because if you do recycle than animals habitats will be safe.Which may help animals from being extinct. So basically it is a great big cycle.
