  1. by recycling we re-use things so we don't fill up land fills so the land fills don't give off harmfull fumes and rot the enviroment. That's also why people are trying to use things that decompose and why there making cars hybirds using solar pannels so on so forth. Plus by recycling we don't have to cut down as made trees.

  2. like in plastic it takes pollution to make it but it takes less to recycle

  3. First the materials are not put into land-fill or incinerated.

Secondly, they are not replaced by mining or manufacturing.

Third the amount of energy consumed is reduced accordingly.

Sure, some manufacturing & transportation will still occur,

but the net result is less, & raw resources are conserved.

  4. Recycling not only reduces the amount of rubbish we bury in landfill sties, it also makes better use of resources and raw materials. Much of what we throw away could be used to make something else and materials such as glass and aluminium can be recycled over and over again without loosing any of their properties. Once buried in the ground we loose these resources, some of which may have been mined and transported long distances, e.g. aluminium cans are made from bauxite ore which is mined in countries like Australia and Guinea in West Africa.

  5. Well, think of it this way, I guess:

Ten plasitc bottles are used for ten pops. If you throw them away, they go to a landfill and are garbage. The company makes ten new bottles, which are thrown away, and become garbage, and so on.

If you recycle them.... they are re-used. So new bottles don't have to be made. The landfills don't get filled up. It's simple, really.... Everyone should do it. Garbage is nasty.

  6. Recycling generally prevents the waste of potentially useful materials, reduces the consumption of raw materials and reduces energy usage

  7. it doesnt fill up the land fills that can emitt fumes

  8. well i guess since things are being recycles they dont get thrown away and rot

  9. WE re-use the stuff, therefore not throwing it out.

  10. Practicing the three R's (REduce, REuse, and REcycle) keeps landfills from filling up and leaching toxic poisons into our water, air and ground.   -RKO-  01/14/08

  11. are you serious asking this question?

  12. Well, when materials are recycled it means they are not being thrown out and taking up space in landfills or being otherwise disposed of. It also reduces the need to obtain new raw materials, which may have its own pollution to go with it (not to mention cutting down trees / digging up mines / etc). In both cases you may be saving energy, which is good since producing energy also causes pollution. Now, this is all fine and dandy so long as the process of recycling doesn't itself use more energy or cause more pollution than it saves.

Please tell me I'm not doing some homework assignment for you.

  13. it doesnt

  14. Is this a serious question?  You must lack any sort of logic.
