It is jampacked with all kinds of information, and I think you'll find it very interesting how they are educating young people to do positive recycling things that benefit the environment and the people.  I hope this helps you.

  3. There isn't nearly enough.  A HI-5 program for returnable bottles and cans has only been in effect for about 3 years.  There is recycling of glass, newspaper, plastics (1 and 2) and metal but most people have to take them to a local school and deposit themselves.  

    As there is no recycling manufacturing in Hawaii, most of these must be sent to the mainland for reuse--spending more oil to get the items there.
