  1. IT took over 4 hours for Nadal to try to beat Roger. I think his form is fine.  He has to regroup after a bad start to the year, and just wait... you'll see him fight back harder than ever.

  2. He looked in pretty good form during the fortnight at Wimbledon. Nadal doesn't normally let his opponents come back from 2 sets down.

I think he needs to get a little more of a "killer "attitude. The mystique of his days past is fading. When he loses to the likes of Mardie Fish, Stepanek and even Andy Roddick, you begin to think you can beat him. He can draw on the experiences of Andre Agassi, Martina Navratilova and Venus Williams, who all came back to win majors in the latter stages of their careers. Federer is only 9 months removed from winning his last major and is still mathematically # 1,so it is a bit premature to write him off just yet. It just gives him some examples to draw from.

Protect his serve- no explanation necessary

Aggression, Aggression, Aggression- no explanation necessary

I get a gut feeling that he will make the necessary changes during the upcoming hardcourt season.

Federer, the dream is not dead !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. he hasnt lost any form, just rafa has become a better player now.

  4. he needs to focus more and keep his eye on the prixe

he needs to not get scared to go for his shots and

cut down on the unenfored errors. He also needs to serve more aces and have good footwork to regain his old form...

and he better do this soon b4 rafa gets the #1 ranking!

  5. I don't know if it's accurate to believe Roger has lost his form. Roger still regularly beats everyone else with relative ease. And excluding a slow start to the season due to illness, he did make both the French and Wimbledon finals with little resistance from any other competitors.

Every player has that one guy that they simply can't figure out or has some strength that plays right into their weakness. For Roger, that person is a left-handed, heavy spin-using, sledge hammer stroking Spaniard with freakish court speed rivaling if not surpassing Michael Chang.

This upcoming hard court season will be interesting to watch. As much as Rafa has grown and improved in his grass game, he has yet to prove himself on hard courts. I'll be curious to see what happens if the two meet in the US Open where the courts offer fewer variables and unpredictable bounces.

  6. Sadly, I think this lose has hurt him, a lot.  He played a great match, but he's struggled this year.  Wimbledon was the first time he was really back to himself, and then Nadal beats him.

If he wants to get back on track, then he needs to make things happen at the US Open.  He needs to not only win it, but he needs to beat Nadal in the final, or at least meet and beat Djokovic at some point.  And he'll need to have a tough enough draw to make him work through it and get the confidence he needs.

Watching him lose was the hardest thing in my sports watching history.  I hope he comes out swinging come August/September.

  7. Roger Federer is still in form.

Rafa Nadal is improving all the time.

He is top dog and is likely to remain so.
