  2. salinity in water is due to the salts present in it. Ideally, water should be odourless, colorless and tastless.

    quality of water is assessed in terms of its use. we refer term bad quality to water when it doent fit for use of any particular purpose. River water is mainly use for irrigation purposes. Saline nature of water restict its use for this purpose. Moreover, increase in salt concentration will also effect biological life of the river.
