  1. A coroner determines the cause of death and the time at which death occured.

    These involve science because they require understanding diseases, how bodies break down after death, what bugs eat bodies, the chemistry of drugs, the physics of weapons, and so on.

    There's lots of analysis that involves the scientific method and scientific education and understanding.
