How does shipping work when buying from a forum using PayPal?

I want to use a PayPal money transfer to buy a part for my car from a another member on a forum and I'm wondering how the shipping works. Do i have to give them my address and postal code or do they ship it through my PayPal like with EBay? I'm not really comfortable with him knowing exactly where I live.

You will have to provide him with your address, otherwise how will he ship it to you? :)

Even with Paypal and eBay, the person you buy from can see your address.  It's not a secret, so don't worry about giving it to him :)  When you make a payment with Paypal, the option is there for you to send your address, so you don't need to email it to him seperately :)

You need to give them a shipping address. There are other alternatives to have him send it to you. You can ask if you can use your workplace address to receive packages that heavy. You can ask a friend or trusted relative if you can use their address to receive a package. You can ask a local business like Postal Annex or The UPS Store to see if you can pay a small fee to use their address to receive the package.
