How does skin lightning creams work?

Question

ok right well for the dark skinned ladies who decide to turn to the lighter side (im not offending anybody because im dark skinned and i wanted to be a few shades lighter because of people tormenting me at school and comparing me to alek wek) but yeh , i just wanted to know how does the cream manage to lightin the skin?? and also is IKB a good skin lightning cream? or fashion fair ?

I sound like such a hypocrite (as I'm also considering but not for my whole body, just me knees..hehe) but I will definelty NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT recommend it on your whole body..my aunty used it for yeeears, yes it did make her lighter, so she stopped using it and within weeks to months she went even darker in blothches and patches and got really really rough damaged skin!

In no way do I condone violence.. but slap those little s***s silly, how dare they bully you!

The skin lightening creams that DO work contain active ingredients which in the long term will damage your skin (they are linked to premature skin aging and skin cancer).  An example is quinine/quinone which has been used in skin lightening creams and is banned in the U.K.  It works by inhibiting melanin production (melanin determines our skin colour). I don't recommend you use any skin lightening cream.

they usually dont work and they are awful for your skin

the darker the sexier; please dont let anyone bring you down because of it! You should just aswell torment them on what downright bas*ards they all are. who the h**l do they think they are? they are just finding a c**p excuse to put someone down so they feel better about themselves. what little t*ssers.

I remember as a kid, I thought all of the little blonde haired, blue eyed girls were beautiful, and I wanted to be like them. I couldn't figure out why my skin tanned, instead of burned.

Then, as I got older, people started telling me "you're so beautiful, in an exotic way." That pissed me off too, because I just wanted to be beautiful, without anyone pointing out the fact that I was brown.

Well, sweetie - guess what? Now, you couldn't pay me enough to be lighter-skinned than I am. I am absolutely beautiful and LOVE my skin! (well, except some stretch marks, but that's another story :) )

Anyway, don't change yourself. You are beautiful the way you are, and if anyone doesn't like it, it is because they are unhappy with their own nasty selves. :o)

success in skin lightening depends on the quality of products used and how you use them.. like tanners for skin tanning, there are also safe, genuine and effective skin lighteners for your purpose.. how it works?.. products involve skin peeling to remove the superficial skin layer and reveal a lighter skin tone.
