If refering to having a small business inside a big business, the smaller businesses (which have a huge income opportunity for the owner) contributes by distribution of the big business's products.  this helps the big business selling their products and making money at the same time the smaller business has a huge income opportunity without the over head costs as the big business does or the cost of making the product, marketing the product etc.
