I'm 20 years old and I'm wanting to get my ged because I never graduated high school. I was homeschooled until about 9th grade and I got a job and then just kind of fell out of it. Don't they have to do some kind of check with your last school? How can they do that for somebody that was never in a real high school?

  1. Contact the Dept of Education in your state.  Ask for a list of test sites and dates.  Also inquire where and when you can register to take the exams

  2. The best option will be going to your high school or inquire about night school at a local Adult Education Center or your high school. Your transcripts will have nothing to do with obtaining a GED. You might have to take courses to prepare for the actual test itself and it's extremely difficult test. The program itself should be free of cost

    Good luck to you

  3. Anyone who has reached the age of sixteen to eighteen (depending on your state) can take the GED. http://www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Se... is the official site.

There is no need for anyone to contact your school.  This is not proof that you attended school. This is proof that you have mastered certain basic skills.

    All the best.
