How does southpark animate their characters?

What program does people like southpark or robot chicken use to animate the characters. The video with the burger king guy singing "ding fries are done" i want to make that. What program do you use to make the mouths move like that?

I'm pretty sure Robot Chicken is simple stop-motion animation with figurines.

Older South Park used paper cut-outs, but now it's all done on computers. I don't know what kind of program they use, though.

If you like that sort of choppy style, you do that manually. Pose the figurine (or make a drawing) and take a picture. Move it slightly (or draw the next slight movement change) and take another picture. Repeat.

The more exact you are with the movements and the more pictures you take, the smoother your finished style will be. Filmmaker Tim Burton uses stop-motion, but you can barely tell. It's certainly not nearly as choppy as Robot Chicken. Stop-motion is really time consuming, but it can make really interesting films. I put mine together in iMovie, which comes free with Apple laptops. I'm sorry I don't know any programs to do it with Windows. A google search would find something though.

well they're clay-mations but south park uses paper cut outs of the characters with a different head for each pronounciation they do and robot chicken uses dolls/action figures whatever you wanna call them...and make they're mouths from clay for movement, no software used i think

South park originally animated paper cut-outs to create their show. They now use a CGI program called Maya to do all the animation and effects. Kind of overkill if you ask me.

Robot chicken is all stop-motion. They use real toys as well as foam latex figures for their show. They use replacement paper mouths to do all the lip sync.

its called 2d animation they use cutouts to animate and run it through a computer to speed up the process via a camera i think its called montage animation .
