How does stroke affect the normal functioning of the body's circulatory system? Science wise?

  1. I think the main circulatory effect of a stroke is on venous circulation. Venous circulation is dependent on muscle tone. Since a sequalea of CVA is muscle paralysis or flaccidity, blood in the venous system moves sluggishly, ergo more blood is on the venous side, less on the arterial side. The sluggish movement leads to other complications, from thrombosis, edema, to pulmonary problems.
