How does sulfuric acid benefit the economy?

  2. In my research, I've found (I'm a biochemist) that sulfuric acid is a major reactant in the production of dyes.

    May not seem major, but dyes are valuable.

    Other than that, all I can think of off the top of my head would maybe be for rubber production. Not sure on that count.
