How does swithched on schoolhouse compare to abeka?

  1. It doesn't. Abeka is far superior.


  2. They are completely different.  

    A Beka is a textbook approach.  You will have textbooks and workbooks (there is also the DVD program, but still, workbooks).  

    In Switched on Schoolhouse, you'll use computer programs for your learning.  No workbooks; it is all on the computer.

    So the question is:  Do you want the kids in front of the computer or in front of a workbook?  

    As far as learning goes, they are both big on the academics (three Rs), poor on life skills.  A Beka is definitely more agressive (meaning, much harder).
