If I'm cruising down the road and your following me without keeping a safe stopping distance and some half drunk idiot going home from the local "Osama for President" meeting pulls straight out in front of me, We are going to have a problem.

I will slam on my brakes, if I have time, and skid into his door.  You will see my brake lights and wonder how it was that I came to a complete stop so very quickly in such a short period of time as you are trying not to spill on your fancy new leather jacket and freshly laundered work out suit your fresh hot White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino® Light Blended Coffee that you just picked up from BigBucks around the corner and have not yet even had a sip of.

You are now parked in my back seat with your horn blaring in my ear.  I am picking my teeth up off the carpet from kissing the steering wheel in quite an aggressive manner.  The idiot's car and I have just been shoved into the intersection in front of a Greyhound bus going 10 MPH over the speed limit and life as we know it now is rapidly coming to an abrupt halt.

If you want to get close enough to read my "Save the Whales -- Collect the Whole Set" bumper sticker, please wait until we get to the traffic light and then pull up in the next lane over so that the idiot behind you doesn't shove you half way up my tailpipe.

It will limit the safe stopping distance that is required, it will cause both the driver and the tailgater to make more mistakes and it could even cause the death to someone...................
