How does taking the bus reduce my greenhouse gas emissions?

the idea is one vehicle producing emmisions is much better than 20 or 30 assuming they can get people to ride, but if you're the only one riding the bus it does no good.

Well, how it works is.. lets just say a bus takes 30 people or so and each car only takes 4 each car uses like just about half of what a buss takes so 2 cars =1 bus. 8 people 2cars or 30 people 1 bus. witch would you take.
