tap into a certain persons phone call? i was watching midnight run last night and the FBI taps into robert dinerios phone call and i was wondering how would they know which phone hes at? so how do they do it?

  2. First they get a warrant that is signed by a judge.  Second, they tap the wire to the phone that they believe will be called by the person who they are trying to apprehend.  They didn't know where he was, they just knew that he would call Joe Pantoliano's character in the bail bonds firm.
