How does the NRL best stop players defecting to rugby union?

  2. The NRL should raise the clubs salary cap so they can pay their players a bit better - that might stop some of the defections

  4. Apart from raising salary cap they could encourage more prominent international competitions so league players get more chance to run out on the field in the green and gold.

  5. The only reason they are defecting is because of the extra money they can receive eithor overseas or in rugby union. So the only way to stop this is to raise the clubs salary caps. But on the contray, you can't keep raising salary caps so players don't leave because in the end the salary caps will be to high for some poorer clubs to reach therefore creating an lopsided league.

    The way i would do it is to disallow them from playing any form of representative footy.

    Don't use their names in any promotional stuff for rugby league

    Don't use them for charity stuff from rugby league.

    Basically only let them play the game without any of they hype and status that is caused through the media
