Today, March 16, there are 5 players tied for the lead at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. I was wondering why they put Tiger in the final pairing and Vijay Singh, who held the lead in previous rounds the third to last pairing, pairing him with the individual in 2nd place, not even with someone tied for first.

  1. It is determined by when they finished the previous round.  First two guys in with the low score will be in the last group the following day, next two tied at that score would be in the second to last group etc.

  2. I believe, they do it by the order in which they finished the day.  In this case, the first player to post 6 under, the 2nd player, the 3rd player, etc...

  3. I was going to say it was done by the player rankings but everyone else seems to believe it is first in, last out...interesting.

  4. First in last out. That's how it works. If two players are on the same green with same score, one who makes the putt first goes out last on the following day.
