For those of you that have a cordless skype phone that does not need to connect to the computer. How does the Skype phone work using the Skype service?

1) When receiving calls - do you just pick up the line or do you have to do anything else in order to listen to the call

2) When dialing - Can you just dial the number like a regular phone or do you need to do some picking/choosing from a list?

3) I am sure at some point you have to type a password to access the account on the phone. Do you have to type it in everytime you call or get a call? or is it a one time input.

Thanks in advance.

  1. In a Skype phone, the Skype software is embedded into the phone.  Thus, your PC no longer needs to be turned on to use the phone.  Anytime the phone is powered-up, it automatically logs into Skype account from the phone, directly through your router connection, bypassing your PC.

    1) Use just lake any cordless phone.

    2) Same as any cordless phone.  Either dial a number directly, or pick from your contacts list.

Or, select a Skype contact, then connect.

    3) Your login information is preset by you when you setup the phone.  Once setup, there is no need to manually login.
