  1. a=100-90

    b=89-80

    c=79-70

    d=69-60

    f=59 and under

    so she got a c

    he should not have called you a dummy he was wrong for tht

  2. The grading system, unfortunately, is not consistent in the USA. So, it really depends upon your location as to the meaning of the grade of 73. If your school system is on the ten-point scale, then, a 73 = C; however, some school systems follow a different scale, such as an 8-point grading system, simply stated, means: 93-100 = A; 85-92 = B;

    77-84 = C; 70-76 = D; 0-69 = F. So, following this system, your friend's 73 would be a "D". Grades are in percentages, but it's the letter grade that is really important and its corresponding numerical score. To answer the second part of your question, how are grades earned, depends again on the teacher or instructor and the school system.

  3. I have to assume it is percentages you are talking about as most tests in the U.S. are graded as such.

    Here's a breakdown:

    90-100% = A Excellent

    80-89% = B  Above Average

    70-79% = C Average

    60-69% = D  Below Average

    0-59% = F Fail

    While a C is passing, some feel being "average" in a subject is  just as bad as failing.

  4. Typically, yes, it means she answered 73% of the questions correctly.

    In highschool, typically, an A is 92-100.

    In college, it's typically a A for 90-100, B for 80-89, C for 70-79, etc.
