  1. doesn't have much to do with evolution.  people did not come from apes but from the same evolutionary tree as apes.  we have a common ancestor which does not mean we came from apes.


  2. There also seems to be much greater innervation leading to much greater control of the tongue.  There is a hole in the skull that indicates the size of the nerve that supplies the tongue.  It also gives an indication when talking started.

  3. At the base of the throat, there is something called the Hyoid Bone, which is necessary for human speech, as we know it today...

    Of interest, apes do not have this bone, however Neanderthals did!
