I made a boomerang from what i saw on the internet, but the angle is really small. It is a two legged boomerang and i haven't tried it out yet. But how does the angle affect its flight and does having a small angle mess it up? I'll say the angle is little more then 45 degrees.

  1. Well, this is the aircraft section.  I don't know anyone who could answer that for you.  Good luck.

  2. The angle give stability.  45 degrees is a bit on the shallow side, but should be OK.  More important is the shape of the boomerangs airfoil, or how the air flows over it.  The shape of each "arm" should be like an aircraft wing, flat on the bottom and curved on the top, with an aerodynamic taper to the rear.  A boomerang really is a wing.

see link for a picture of what I am talking about near the bottom of the article:

It should be sanded very smooth.

When you throw it, hold it vertically, with the rounded top side towards you, and the other arm pointing forward.  give it a good spin with your wrist and throw it almost level.  You do not throw it like a frisbee.

    more here, a good article.
