Question:

How does the blood of Jesus?

save us ? Isn't blood part of the flesh. How is our spirit saved by a person having been murdered 20 centuries ago and "now" religion says his blood redeems us. I wasn't even there, nor were any of my ancestors. Tell me why I am to believe that the murder of Jesus atones to God for my bad behaviors through conversion when this all happened about 2000 years ago.

  1. He shed His blood on the cross for us. That is how it saves us.

  2. Jesus got himself killed because he broke Roman Law, not because he 'died on the cross for our sins'. Jesus was delusional enough to say 'I am the way, the truth and the Light' - which, under Roman Law was a crime to say in public because to claim divinity was to put oneself above the Emperor (who was regarded as the 'anointed' chosen son of God).

  4. OK, if you have ever read literature you might know that some phrases are called metaphorical.  That means there is a poetic meaning that comes across more strongly than just the literal meaning.

Here is the reality.  What mankind earns based on his committing cosmic treason against a loving Creator is death.  God in His mercy sends His Son (the idea of Son is more designed to communicate than to provide us with a biological statement of relationship) to pay the penalty for our rebellion against God.   God accepts Jesus' death on the cross ( a death that included the literal spilling of blood) as paying the penalty for mankind's sin.  Sometimes to communicate Jesus' death the Apostles would simply use the word 'blood' as a sort of idiom for His death.  This did happen in history about 2000 years ago.  Wouldn't it be cool if one of your ancestors paid a debt for you that you would not incur until the present.  Do you think you have a clearer picture now?

  5. Figurative language, dude.

When Jesus died, He cried "Father, Father, why have you forsaken me?" (Matt. 27:46). He was not only quoting a passage that was a prophecy of His death (Psalm 22), but showing that God had indeed left Him.

h**l is eternal seperation from God, and Jesus was separated from God on that cross. But not just for that moment.

God made the universe. Thus God is outside of space and time. So that moment on the cross when God left Christ, lasted for an eternity.

  6. By proving how much God loves and forgives us of what the people have done to him. Because he did so, we know how much God loves us and we were all united with the father again, and now we are saved.

  7. Understanding Romans 5:12 will help us, it says: "That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned"

Sin entered into the world thru adam, which brought also death and sickness to mankind. Remember that originally Adam was not supposed to die, he will die if he will eat the forbiddn fruit. Since he did not follow God's law Adam started to get sick, grow old, and eventually die, this plight is passed on to his children including us that is why we die.

How can we be freed (SAVE) from this plight or misery? Remember that Adam lost a perfect life. Following God's principle at Deut 19:21 which says: "And your eye should not feel sorry: soul will be for soul, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.", what has been lost must be paid with the same amount. eye for an eye, soul will be four soul. Since adam lost his perfect life, a perfect life must also be paid to free us from sin and death which we inherited from Adam.

WHo can pay a perfect life? Or who lived without sinning, thus lived perfect? Only Jesus Christ. That is why he have to die for our sins, to pay what adam lost.

That is why Romans 5:15 tells us "But it is not with the gift as it was with the trespass. For if by one man’s trespass many died, the undeserved kindness of God and his free gift with the undeserved kindness by the one man Jesus Christ abounded much more to many"

Thru one man (adam) sin and death entered, but thru one man (Jesus) also we can have a prospect of everlasting life.

In the Bible times, Israelites offers animal sacrifices for the forgiveness of their sins,  Why do we no longer do that?  Jesus' blood serves now as sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins.  That is why we have to put faith in it and ask forgiveness on basis of Jesus blood,

Notice Hebrews 9:13-15 "For if the blood of goats and of bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who have been defiled sanctifies to the extent of cleanness of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of the Christ, who through an everlasting spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works that we may render sacred service to [the] living God? 15 So that is why he is a mediator of a new covenant, in order that, because a death has occurred for [their] release by ransom from the transgressions under the former covenant, the ones who have been called might receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance."

YOu might ask, why do we still get sick, grow old and die if Jesus already sacrificed himself? Blessings of everlasting life will take effect after God thru Jesus execute His judgement on earth. So while awaiting for such, it is important to maintain our faith on Jesus, and do what His Father requires of us.

    I hope I answered your question =)

  8. when he died and rose again everyone who would from that day on be a follower of Christ was saved. other than that you would have to ask about sacrifices which i don't really understand myself...

  9. Jesus died in our place and took our punishment of death upon himself.

All those who confess jesus will be saved and have their sins removed.

Rom 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

If we die with out the salvation through Jesus we will pay the penalty of death for our own sin. jesus died so that we would not have to.

All sinners will receive death who break the Law of god.

Jesus was God in the flesh.

It was human blood but Jesus lived on earth without sin and was holy and pure and became the sacrifice to have our sins removed.

  10. Well you see, the blood lets you roll a perfect 20 each time, "saving" you from attack.

  11. You are right on target, and I think that Jesus would agree with you, since the Gift of God he was promoting was "Living Water" not blood for sin. The second idea came from Paul after Jesus was long gone.

The Original Kingdom Gospel Jesus preached was not about sacrifice... in fact Jesus put it this way: I will have mercy, and not sacrifice." Get the straight story here: http://gospelenigma.com That will explain what the Genuine Kingdom Gospel was all about.

You are so right. The Gift of God, Living Water cleans, not blood.

  12. Hebrews 9:22 "In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness."

Someone had to die to fulfill the law, presumably the ones who broke the law (which amounts to everyone except Jesus, who lived a perfect life).  But when Jesus consented to die, and went through the tortuous death that He suffered, He paid the blood-price everyone (past, present and future) owed.

At least, He paid for everyone who is willing to accept His gift of paying their debt and setting them free from guilt and death sentence.

Does that help make things make more sense?

  13. Christ's blood-spattered body was part of his dying for each one of us. His death satisfied God's demand that you be punished for your sin, and through Christ's death be forgiven for your sin.

  14. You miss understood scripture. Its a symbol of Jesus sacrifice for us. This question is morinic just another straw man. Only Gods people understand his word.

  15. Apparently, Jesus chose to 'absorb' the sins of humanity, so to speak. So, instead of humanity being condemned to be wiped out (or so I've been told), Jesus instead died in their place. Hence, the shedding of his blood infers the 'redemption' of humanity.

  16. Because God says so.  It's that simple.

    <(((><

  17. It goes like this;

Ask yourself if you have sinned( see 10 Commandments), your answer should be 'yes'. Next ask yourself  if you would go to Heaven or h**l after being judged.

Quite simply someone had to die, and that person had to be without sin. So, we need Jesus to take the punishment for our sins, which He already has done.

It also has to do with the Jew's sacrificing Lambs and other animals for there sins, Jesus is the 'Lamb of God'.

  18. Read the bible.

  19. This is a principle I learned way before I became a Christian.

Issac Asimov, in one of his straight science books tells of something his father taught him. His dad had a business, and he heard his dad working on the company's books. His dad said "The books got to balance." Issac took that principle and applied it to science, showing why they knew there were particles missing in the understanding of matter and what made it up.

So, the "books got to balance".

    Romans 5:12

12 That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.

We have a Debt charged against the human race, due to Adam's sin.

    The "books got to balance."

15 But it is not with the gift as it was with the trespass. For if by one man’s trespass many died, the undeserved kindness of God and his free gift with the undeserved kindness by the one man Jesus Christ abounded much more to many. 16 Also, it is not with the free gift as it was with the way things worked through the one [man] that sinned. For the judgment resulted from one trespass in condemnation, but the gift resulted from many trespasses in a declaration of righteousness. 17 For if by the trespass of the one [man] death ruled as king through that one, much more will those who receive the abundance of the undeserved kindness and of the free gift of righteousness rule as kings in life through the one [person], Jesus Christ.

Jesus' blood, his life, gave us a Credit, one that was undeserved, but still a Credit.

    The books balanced.

Now that there is a way to stand up and have our Debts (sins) balanced out by that Credit, even it was given nearly 2000 years ago.

Paul does warn that if we miss the purpose of this sacrifice, we may end up in Debt again, but this time no one willing to extend us any more Credit.

    2 Corinthians 6:1

6 Working together with him, we also entreat YOU not to accept the undeserved kindness of God and miss its purpose.

Hebrews 10:26 For if we practice sin willfully after having received the accurate knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice for sins left, 27 but [there is] a certain fearful expectation of judgment and [there is] a fiery jealousy that is going to consume those in opposition. 28 Any man that has disregarded the law of Moses dies without compassion, upon the testimony of two or three. 29 Of how much more severe a punishment, do YOU think, will the man be counted worthy who has trampled upon the Son of God and who has esteemed as of ordinary value the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has outraged the spirit of undeserved kindness with contempt? 30 For we know him that said: “Vengeance is mine; I will recompense”; and again: “Jehovah will judge his people.” 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of [the] living God.

That is how the blood of Jesus can reach so far forward, and even covers Debts before his "Deposit" of his life with his Father.

  20. When people say they were saved by the blood - they mean that Jesus shed his precious blood in death to save us from our sins.  He was 100% man and 100% God and perfect in every way.  He lived with all the temptations that we live with and more - yet He never once sinned.  Only He could die for our sins because He was the only perfect one.

I hope that helps - I know it is a difficult concept but that is why we have to believe through faith by the Grace of Jesus Christ
