How does the body break down potassium sorbate?

wilde sp: normal salt (we use sea salt actually) does not make my daughter hyperactive to my knowledge but potassium sorbate seems to do so. She goes absolutely haywire if she gets juice or biscuits with it in.

  2. I don't really know, but potassium sorbate is a type of salt (Potassium salt of sorbic acid) and I presume that it's broken down similarly to common table salt.
