How does the candy melt?

like, when i put a mint in my mouth and don't chew, how does it dissolve?...

  1. It's the acid in your saliva that makes it melt.

  4. The bodies regular temp is 98.6, room temperature is around 68-75F. Also your saliva is the beginning process of digestion, it breaks it down before you swallow.

  6. Technically it is your saliva but candy (hard sugar ones like life savers, peppermints etc...) will melt at any temperature the only thing you need to add is moisture. If you have some candies get three glasses of water at cold, warm and hot temperatures...drop one peice of candy in each. While the candy will melt faster at the higher temperatures of water the cold water candy will melt as well--it will just take longer...give it a try!
