  1. If you mean Japanese cherry blossom tree, Prunus serrulata:

Its hermaphrodite ( includes male and female organs ) flowers bloom in April to May ( cultivars differ ), are pollinated by insects and the seeds need 2-3 month to ripen. It fruits best in a sunny position, but the small black fruits are not showy and not numerous

Seed - requires 2 - 3 months cold stratification and is best sown in a cold frame as soon as it is ripe. Sow stored seed in a cold frame as early in the year as possible.

The seed can be rather slow, sometimes taking 18 months to germinate.

Prick out the seedlings into individual pots when they are large enough to handle.

Grow them on in a greenhouse or cold frame for their first winter and plant them out in late spring or early summer of the following year. ( cit. )

Other ways of propagation: cuttings, layering.

Trees reach 20-25 ( 30 ) ft. in height and begin to bear in about 5-6 years. As a mature tree it is vase-shaped & rounded, sometimes flat on top. A 35-40 year old tree is said to be old.
