How does the current national and international situation affect your personal life?

Higher gas prices have increased what I spend for travel as well as impacting the economy in general due to higher shipping costs.  It's especially noticeable in milk, for example, which has risen in price by over a dollar in a year.  A dollar may not seem like much, but it's a 33% increase!  

Generally I'm somewhat worried that the cost of living is going to keep rising faster than my pay raises.  Also my 401k is hurting, but luckily I have 40 more years for it to rebound!

Of course the first thing people will say is the high price of fuel affects everything we do.  And that is so true and I am very proud of how the American people are rallying and making efforts to reduce their fuel consumption.  Me personally....I try to save more, use coupons, ride share, consolidate trips.  I have always been fairly conservative with my money but now it has become a sort-of game to see how I can save.  I have also gotten to where I am very cautious when I travel by myself (female).  Too many crazy folks out there with too much time on there hands.
