Well, if we take class or Marx for example - there is conflict between the workers and the middle and upper classes - and this can play out on a school level.  Middle class norms and attitudes can make working class children feel alienated, they may also lose out in terms of provisions, by not having a computer or trips to a museum, etc.  Basically, if you think about the conflicts in society (race, class, gender) and then think about how these people could be differently treated in school, that would probably say something about the conflicts in wider society.
