It all depends. Most times people do move it. However there are times when people are into the "spiritual world" and strange things happen. If you really want to find out, maybe play with people who you can absolutely trust to not move anything.

Well you will get two basic answers.  One camp will tell you that it is all fake and that it is really you and the folks who are using it with you that subconsciously are pushing the indicator around.  Others will tell you that it is evil dark spirits.  The truth is actually somewhere in between.  It is actually a combination of your own higher knowing (the same force inside yourself that can be psychic) and sometimes contact with nonphysical beings.  It is not actually dangerous, but it can scare the pants off of you.  It isn't actually very useful or helpful, and while I can guarantee you that you won't get a bunch of devils in your house from using it.. you will probably experience more negative than it is worth in the long run.  If you want to fool with such things, use Tarot instead.  Takes longer to learn, but less likely to freak you out.
