  1. Helps you to "dig into" the surface (be it sport court, roll-on or pavement) as you would on your ice skates, allowing your stride to be closer to what you would do on the ice.

  2. I thought you were talking about contracts, not whatever habs fan was saying. With contracts, it'll give the team more cap space to work with in the future. It's weird because you expect to get a raise the longer you stay with an employer, but in the NHL, it's the other way around. I hope Lecavalier took a few courses in money management and investing....
