  1. Actually each country's resources are affected by a number of geographical borders.

First, let's look to where the country is located geographically depending on the virtual time-lines and the position.

Does it have coasts? Rivers? forests? iced mountains?

All what you can find in a country is due to its location.

For example, let's take the USA and Iceland.

The USA position and expanded territory allow it to have multiple weathers at the same time, Texas is near the equatorial line (which means , heat, desertion, lack of water, but lots of petrol and mineral resources) and North Dakota is in the extreme north of the US allowing it to be cold, fresh and rich of water resources.

For Iceland, it is smaller than US, mono-climate and doesn't contain any favorable milieu for developing a petrol resource. It can be one state of the US!

So the bigger is the territory, the further it gathers different climates which they, by their own help to develop a new kind of resources.

If a country is in the heat point (equatorial) and far from he sea, so the chance is too small to find rivers inside it, no rivers means no shipping activities, it means also no fishing production.

the answer is by no means exhaustive and it covers a small part of the question, i hope it helps you to understand.

    Best of luck
