  1. The portion of the eye that changes focusing distance is called the lens. Muscles around it contract and relax to change its curvature.  


  2. we can see objects at varying distances because of elongation and contraction of lens . this happens because of stretching and relaxing of ciliary bodies, a type of muscle, around the lens
