  1. I had one and it will get out lots of hair, but my cats did not like it.  I think it hurt them and was either cutting or pulling their hair.  I use a type of comb first that is has long, thick tines spaced far apart, kinda like a little rake.  Then I use a regular brush. I still get out lots of hair, but they dont cry anymore.

  2. it is totally worth the price, go to FURminator's website, and they have a demo video, which really sells the product to you. i know many who have them for cats and dogs. it greatly reduces the hairballs in cats. good luck.

  3. It works great for my cats. I can't believe how much hair it gets out and they seem to love it.

  4. I love it!  I have a short hair tabby that sheds like crazy.  I was about to lose my mind with the cat hair!  First time, I FURminated him, I got about a cantaloupe-sized ball of hair off him.  The next week I did it again, and I got about a baseball size ball of hair off him.  Now I don't get nearly as much off him because I keep up with it.

As for the FURminator irritating the cat's skin, just don't put any pressure on the comb and it should not hurt his skin.  You can just lightly drag it across his fur and it will do the rest.  My cat hates being brushed, but he has behaved for the FURminator.  I think it is because (in addition to the treats he gets) he actually feels better afterwards.  He looks cleaner and professionally groomed (not to mention with a lot less fur).

  5. If your cat sheds that much then she isn't getting enough protein and omega fatty acids in her diet. Food is the foundation of your pets health and it effects almost every aspect, including how much he sheds. Only feed food with no corn, wheat, soy, gluten,or by products. Petsmart has a few brands with none of those things. When I switched my cat to better quality food her shedding decreased almost immediatly like within a couple of days. Blue Buffalo and by Nature Organics are good brands found at petsmart.

  6. I don't know much about the furminator, but these work really good for drawing out the shedding hair. http://www.jefferspet.com/ssc/product.as...

You can buy them almost anywhere -pet stores, grocery stores.

  7. i have 4 dogs and absolutley love it, if your cat is not used to being brushed it may take some getting used to on her part.  If you already brush your cat it shouldnt be a problem. Some deshedders do have a blade, this however does not have a blade.

It was well worth the money
